It's a long time since I've been to Central Park and actually thought we had more than a snow ball in hell's chance. The last time we won was in the 92/93 season when the Wires took the league points 11 - 4, similar today would have been just fine by me.
Warrington still had Scott Wilson sidelined with a knee injury, failing another late fitness test. Jon Roper is out for a few weeks with a hamstring and Lee Penny and Lee Briers play through the pain barrier with their respective injuries.
Wigan on the other hand play musical chairs with their line up. No Florimo, Smith or Radlinski. Farrell takes stand-off, Robinson shifts to scrum half and Reber is back at Hooker. The line-up doesn't look familiar but the Warriors still have half a dozen internationals on the pitch, shame for them isn't it?.
The game isn't five minutes old when new boy Reber turns the Warriors first real foray into points. A quick play of the ball near the line and new boy Reber took his chance well and dived over from dummy half for a Hookers try. Farrell didn't miss the conversion, he rarely does (6 - 0).
Quotes:
"Since I have been coaching I've never had an easy game against Warrington. They are always competitive and they always come to play."
"They have been quiet achievers this season with having won four out of four. But they made a few errors which helped us. Even at 18-0 we never thought the game was won." - John Monie Wigan Coach
"It was disappointing that the first two tries came from their dummy half. We didn't control the ball in the first-half and you can't give Wigan that much ball and not expect to pay the penalty. You have to give them credit for the character they showed in the second-half. You don't come back from 18-0 down here but at 18-10 we had a chance." - Darryl van De Velde Wolves coach
